As a part of our mission, we offer various types of community education, including training for firefighters who want to know life-saving techniques for small animals, as well as educating the public through various events around the community.
On a daily basis we offer our knowledge to the public- whether it be explaining the importance of keeping a dog on HeartGard, or the importance of keeping your pets current on a rabies vaccine, we are happy to teach anyone who is willing to learn how to better the lives of their pets! We are proud that we are kept well informed on new vaccines that are offered, and different diseases that cats and dogs can get. Our drug representatives offer small workshops to us, keeping us up-to-date on new vaccines and diseases.
A lot of people feel the need to relinquish a pet to us, simply because they do not understand their pet! Our rescue manager has over fifteen years of experience and has offered suggestions to hundreds of families over the years. She has been able to keep pets with their families by offering ways to work through the problems they are having. If there is a problem that we do not feel we are knowledgeable enough to help you with, we have many resources at our fingertips! We will point you in the right direction with other professionals in our area.
Pueblo's favorite all save Dog & Cat Shelter! Another part of what we like to do is educate emergency service personnel! We offer training to fire-fighters and EMT service people by teaching them how to properly incubate cats and dogs so if they are to come across an animal in need during their service, they will know how to perform life-saving measures for them! How exciting it is to know that Pueblo has such a small organization that offers so many wonderful services to the area!
We also offer internships for students at Pueblo Community College and CSU-Pueblo.
If you are interested in having us speak at an event, just contact us! We are always happy to share with the public what we do!
